Schuler Engineering has been continuously building general engineering projects since 1979 with a primary focus on hydro-mechanical construction for the municipal market. We maintain A, B, and C-10 licenses with the State of California and additional specialty licenses with other agencies. Our projects include: pre-stressed and conventional concrete tanks, pump stations for both waste and potable water, water quality treatment plants, sewage treatment plants, power plants, plumbing and pipe fitting projects. In general we self perform 70% of our annual contract volume and subcontract only those specialties which we do not find an advantage to do ourselves. Our volume of work since establishment exceeds 250 million dollars, all of which was bonded and guaranteed. We have never failed to complete a project nor have we missed a scheduled date of completion. Our clients range from the largest municipalities to the smallest water companies.
Our staff is comprised of four full time project managers; three registered civil engineers and one mechanical engineer. In addition to our staff engineers, we have a general superintendent who oversees all field work. Each member of our clerical staff is a college graduate with extensive experience in construction accounting, insurance and project management. This management team has over 160 years of combined construction experience and 110 years of combined engineering experience. We also provide a consulting role to some of our municipal clients: we advise on constructability issues, provide engineers’ estimates, and provide engineering advice from a contractor’s point of view.
We also offer consulting services for work that is in the realm of our specialty. This consulting includes expert witness testimony, constructability reviews, engineers estimates, and construction claims work. We offer this service only to municipalities and their consultants. This is not our primary line of work; it is a service we offer because it tends to improve the quality of the product that is built by ourselves and our competition.
